2015 Seminar Thank You Letter

March 20, 2015

To our valued students, instructors and staff:

The Shreveport Fire Department K9 Search and Rescue Task Force would like to thank each and every person who attended our annual seminar in Scottsville, Texas this past week. We know many traveled from near and far to take part in the training. Students came from Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, Kansas, Montana and Iowa to name just a few. Thank you for your dedication to us and your canine partners.

Our goal was to provide a quality training and learning experience unmatched by other seminars. We hope you left with a greater knowledge catalog than when you arrived.

As many of you may know, for the third year in a row our team received an actual emergency call out for a missing person in Shreveport. That person was found safely after several hours of searching through mud, water and woodland conditions. For those who assisted in the search with our team, thank you! For those who took care of business back at the camp while we were in the field, thank you as well!

It takes a lot of people working together as one team to make our seminar a success. Everyone did their part to accomplish this feat. Our instructors did a wonderful job imparting their knowledge on eager students. Those students were receptive and put forth a tireless effort. The Scottsville Camp staff cooked wonderful meals for us. This year was proof that one unified team equals success.

Our auction was a giant success again this year as well. Thank you to those who provided items and sources for all of us to have fun bidding on. The money our team raised will go to offset some of the costs of putting this seminar together.

The weather, for the first two days, cooperated but rained on us on Wednesday and Thursday. However, this did not dampen our spirits nor deter us from pressing on with training. Thank you for overcoming, adapting and staying positive.

If this was your first year with us, we hope to see you again next year. If you are a returning student, we thank you for your continued support of our team. We have already started planning for next year’s seminar. We will take your suggestions and improve on what we feel is already a solid foundation.

May you have safe travel home. Thank you for choosing this wonderful service to save lives in your community.

Respectfully,

Shreveport Fire Department K9 Search and Rescue Task Force Members
